Open Archive Launch

The hippest of the hip milled about with beer in collective hand whilst Mark Barrage, The Donkey's Tail & Francis Plagne tuned their respective 'instruments'. A collection of bow strung electric guitars, plucked violins, paint tins, 2x4's & all matter of pvc piping was used to create the evenings 'music'.

The crowd, nearly as eclectic as the objects employed by the performers, displayed an array of emotions whilst experiencing the cacophony of sound. From bewilderment to wonderment, outrage to dismay...

Arbyrnth

I have had the privilege of photographing Arbryth many times over the years. Not only incredible musicians, but lovely genuine people. This shoot was in a breathtaking Californian Redwood Forest, a perfect location for a 'Forest Metal' band. Their latest album will feature this artwork & is due for release by the end of 2011.

Prahan Market

Fresh Bread, Flowers, Crates, Characters, Taste testing galore, Prahan market nested in the southern end of Melbourne is nearly my favourite market... Never could I make the decisive judgment that any could be my final, concrete favourite, markets are like children, you can never publicly denounce one as your least liked... all of the markets of Melbourne evolve at such a pace that only a fool or a genius would decide upon just the one. Knowing that I am neither, I stay with my nearly favourite.
Duck Eggs, Quail Eggs & the soon to be consumed by yours truly, the Emu Egg, are abound. A passionate eggspert tells me that an emu egg equates to 14 chicken eggs. Unlike the humble chicken egg, the Emu does not set in a traditional consistency, running, wobblier, more exotic...
Then there are the cheeses, my god, the cheeses. And all of them are 4 for ten dollars. The rivalry between the delis, especially the two that corner off to each other, cascading samples & passionate woman with abundance's of knowledge & staunchness create an electric if not awkward atmosphere in the deli corner. But for 4 pieces of any cheese, (any!) you not only put up with the shakespeare-esc intense showdown, you sometimes find yourself barracking for your favourite team... depending on how much wine you have sampled...
